As Pride Month is approaching, I guess some of you might attend the Pride Parade. So I would like to introduce some facts about Pride Month and also show you some jewelry that is suitable to wear to make you stand our during the Pride Month!

What is Pride month and Pride Parade?

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan.

In 1969, the Stonewall Inn was one of the most popular gay bars in New York City. At the time, homosexuality and the gay community were still considered a criminal offenses and always called for haters. On June 28, 1969, police used the excuse of the illegal sale of liquor to interrogate the customers in the gay bar. Though some people escaped from the battle, still there were some arrested by the police. But the uprising war was far from over. The news of the Stone Uprising was rapid throughout the city and thousands of the protesters gathered together around the Stonewall to support the gay community.

The first Pride march was held on June 28, 1970, on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. The very first gay pride was to commemorate the Stone Uprising last summer in which thousands of gay community went to the street to demonstrate against abuse of centuries from government hostility to employment and housing discrimination, Mafia control of Gay bars, and anti-Homosexual laws
